Helpful tips when hens are moulting?

So, just things to keep in mind when chickens are moulting. My little Pekin/Cochin is having her first moult and I was just wondering if anyone can give me some tips?

About the only thing you can do is increase the protein. Feathers are 93% protein. Supplementing some animal protein in the form of meat or fish is best but it still takes some time.

I'm feeding canned mackerel a couple times a week. Some of my chickens have reduced appetites during molt, losing considerable weight. The mackerel is a big hit with all of them, including the ones with diminished appetites.

All of the chickens old enough for molt are doing very well in replenishing feathers with no large bare patches as in past molts. They also get fermented feed, which I believe also helps.
