One of my hen's (a Red Star) was sick and died this morning. I wanted to
educate myself as I thought she might be egg bound and died from that.
So... I did an "autopsy" to try and determine what the cause of sickness / death
might have been.

She was very bloated in her abdomen and when I pierced it, about a quart of
yellow fluid came out. When I cut her open her organs had these polyp looking
growths all over them (see attached).

From what I could tell, she didn't seem to be egg bound. She was about 2 years old.

Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not an expert on necropsy photos, but I would guess that it was internal laying complicated by ascites or fluid in the belly. You might want to PM Speckledhen or Casportpony, who have done many necropsies.

It looks similar to a necropsy I saw on a hen that died of reproductive cancer. Those little polyps could be cancerous, and spread to her other organs.
Casportpony has a thread with lots of necropsies on it, that may help.
