Our hen is sick.. thank you so much for your help.
The weather is getting very cold here.. Our hen stopped laying (we put a light in the coop to help with this).. but then she began to exhibit symptoms of egg binding, or maybe dehydration? .. sluggish, abdominal contractions, dried blood around nostril.
We brought her inside and this is day 3 of monitoring and doses of Oxytetraycline. She has been eating and drinking and pooping normally. Tried all of the hot water baths/steam ect. The contractions have minimized, but no egg. Thinking maybe not egg bound..
Today some red in her poop (looks more like intestinal shedding?), but eating and drinking normally still. She is much more perky and vocal today. However her left side and body over all still appears a bit swollen.. and the blood on the nostril still is odd..
    Any ideas?
