hen has a sore eye

I dont know if it was dirt or she was pecked. For 2 days she walks around with one eye closed. She has opens it but only for a second or 2.

Poor thing, have you tried to flush her eye with sterile water? If there is something in there that should flush it out.
I know there is some medicine you can put in her eye but the name of it isn't coming to me right now. I'm sure someone will pop in with more info on what can be done.

Rinse it with contact lens solution. The kind you use to store and rinse contact lenses with. You can also soak a cotton ball in the saline solution and gently rub to eye and gently try to manipulate the lid to see what is going on under it. Rinse it 2 or 3 times a day and get some terramycin ointment making sure it is for eye use.

The saline solution might fizz a bit but that is normal. It should soothe her eye and has germ killing properties.
