My 40 week old barred rock hen looks like she is starting to lose weight. She started laying a month ago and has been steadily laying eggs since the 19th. She's eating and drinking and gets table scraps every night. She lives with only one other chicken. Which is my ameracuana rooster. She is the dominate one which is funny but she is a huge hen. And he's a small roo. I think it could be tapeworm or something and I do have a cat and dog. The dog and cat don't stress her out at all and she loves to clean and peck at the dog and the cat is absolutely horrified of them after my last rooster beat her up and shoved her in the pool. I'm just wondering if she is normally losing weight because it's getting cooler out or what. She's never had shots or anything like that and has been otherwise healthy. Could she have picked up some kind of worm or somthing to cause her to drop weight?

There are worms dogs get that chickens can get. I'm not sure what kind...

An internal fungal infection can cause gradual weight loss, too. There is a page on that on the site linked in my sig below. Has she been around or eaten anything moldy?

She hasn't been around anything gross from what I know of. It has been raining a lot though. I replace the food once a day. And the waterer gets cleaned out everyday to. What do roundworms do?
