I have a 5 month old Blue Laced Red Wyandotte (splash) hen that just started (an hour ago) making this odd whining sound with each breath. She seems uneasy, but I can't perceive any other symptoms beyond breathing through her mouth. I've linked to a video of her so you can see her behavior....don't know what her poop looks like at this point. None of the other birds are doing this. She has not yet started to lay.
I've never wormed my chickens--we just moved to a new house--they've been here about a week. Does it seem like gapeworm? Respiratory problem? I don't think it is heat related--she's not holding her wings away from her body, and it is a little cooler today than it has been.
