Hen or Roo?? Help

    I was told I was buying hens... But a friend says they are all roosters .. Barred rock, 13 weeks.

    That is a lot of comb development for only three months...they also appear to be pretty light. Barred rock pullets are usually darker than this if they are from a hatchery. If they are from breeder stock though they may just be light pullets. I think I'm seeing the start of some hackle feathers on that one in the front, though. Are you seeing any long, shiny, skinny, pointed feathers on their necks or above their tails?

    That one in the middle is a roo for sure. Can't really see the saddles on the other ones but that's a lot of comb for that age

    All of the Barred Rocks in that photo do appear to be roosters.

    They have awfully large combs for such a young age, so I agree with above.

    Thank you everyone.... Bummer because I cannot have 6 roosters in a coop with 4 hens.
