Breed & sex?
we can't tell much from that photo as you have not told us how old the bird is and we also don't have any idea of how big it is from this pic...
Looks like a hen Japanese Bantam from the photo.. but the feet are the wrong colour.. should be yellow... so maybe a cross..
Can you tell us how big it is.. and how old etc?
I'm not sure of age. It's listed as Buff Blacktail Japanese hen. I just noticed the tail feathers look kinda messy though, which makes me wonder about cleanliness. Mine aren't the cleanest in the world, but if I were trying to sell one, I would definitely clean it up better than this one. Thanks for your reply.
Looks like a hen.
Why I think so-
No saddle feathers
No dark patches on wings
She should be laying or close to lay
Definitely a hen. As for breed, I'm not sure. My first guess would be a mix. She's very pretty!
Looks like a mixed breed hen to me. I would say she's a Black Tailed Buff Japanese, but the leg color is wrong (her legs are white instead of the correct yellow). She's very cute!
That is 100% buff japanese hen
