I'm not too sure on this one. I hope it's not a roo, because that would mean rehoming it. Also, what type of Wyandotte is it?
It's a Silver Laced Wyandotte, although it has some serious feather growth issues going on. . . I'd say it might be a pullet, but I'm honestly not sure on this one.
My guess is roo. It has quite a lot of pigment in its comb already for being only ten weeks. It also has pretty big legs and feet. It's a bit early to tell for sure though. I could be wrong!
I don't know why it's like that, the chick it was raised with is completely fine What would cause that?
I'm thinking that's probably a boy you've got there, but not for sure on that one. And slow feather growth is something I've noticed a fair bit in Wyandottes. We have a few purebreds and every year we hatch at least one Columbian Wyandotte chick (Normally it winds up being a rooster, but not always) which feathers out REALLY slowly. Eventually the feathers will all come in and they'll look normal. Silver Laced Wyandottes are some of the prettiest in my opinion, you're lucky to have one! (I wish I did, lol)
i have pics of my pullets about the same age maybe a bit older than yours but here is my post with pics on page 1 & 2 https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=429850&p=1 my pics may help you sex your one. i have been told that males usually have solid colors on the back.
Thanks! Really confused, one minute I'm thinking pullet, next roo. Guess I'm going to have to wait a bit.
Just a gut feeling, but I think roo...something about the color pattern on the SLW, reminds me of our Roo. But, I agree-wait a little to see for sure.
