Fully feathered out now at 5 weeks old. Ive had this little cochin (large fowl) all this time thinking its a he. But I'm not so sure now. Lets get other's opinions.

I dunno either. They are hard to tell. I have a bunch about the same age as yours. And I cant tell any difference. Someone said to look at the wing feathers but I dont remember what they said to look at. I will try to trace back and see. Good luck finding out. I am sure someone on here will tell you it is just getting the right person to find your topic.

Looks a whole lot like my sweet little Lulu, don't you think? But your does have a little larger comb, but mine is about a week younger. Whatever he/she is- sure is cute!

I am guessing hen. I have two cochins, about 9 weeks old. I have an obvious roo and an obvious hen. And yours looks like my hen as far as body shape. The comb is a bit larger I think, but everything else says hen to me.

'Course, I need to add this legal disclaimer: I am notoriously bad at guessing chicken sex and breed of my own chickens and it would probably be in your best interest not to subject yourself to my opinions. [IMG]

I am going to say roo also.

I have 3 a little older, my female feathered out and fluffed up much faster/earlier than the boys. They look like yours, not much tail. The boys also have combs that are just above their head feathers, whereas my females comb is still well below her head feathers. The crease down the chest makes me think its a boy also, my females chest is all feathers and fluffier.

I could be wrong of course [IMG] Hope it turns out to be whatever you want it to be [IMG]
