Hi there, could someone help me to understand if my chicken is a hen or rooster?

She is roughly 6 months old.

Looks like a roo to me, with the tail and saddle feathers, along with that big bright red comb

    EDIT:

How didn't I notice? Welcome!! [IMG]

Also, do post in the breed and gender forum to get the best advice for this! [IMG]

    Howdy neighbour [IMG] Welcome!

Sorry if it is not want you wanted to hear but I am thinking male also. However, the more experienced folks on the Breed and Gender Forum are probably your best bet.

Please do pop in and say Hello on the Aussie Thread to which Ken has also given you a link, you will be welcome.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends [IMG]

    Hello from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA!

Ditto what everyone else said. I have a hen that is almost the perfect match for him. Almost identical.
