Hen or Rooster?

    I'm hoping my Barred Rock is a hen but it kind of looks like a rooster. I'm new to all this so your opinions are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks [​IMG]

    Well I'm sorry to bring bad news but 1) That's not a Barred Rock and 2) it is without a doubt, a cockerel.

    Not a BR, but definitely a rooster.

    It's not a barred Rock and not a hen. [​IMG] The coloration combined with the saddle and long hackle feathers all say roo. If you can post some better pics of it, we might be able to narrow down the breed. We need straight, level side on shots of it standing naturally and a straight head on shot so we can see the comb.

    Thank you all for your help. Like I said I'm very new to this. In fact these are my first two chickens. I was just going by what the lady who sold them to me said. According to her the other is suppose to be a black star hen. Oh well live and learn I guess.
