Betsy, the 4 week-old Australorp (whose life I saved!) pecked me square in the eye. Needless to say, I am POed at her. I will refill my antibiotic drops when the pharmacy opens in the morning. And she climbed up onto my shoulder all sweetie chick-like...[IMG]

Maybe she just liked the "shinyness" of it.....she might have thought you brought her something to play with! One of my Wyandottes pecked me in the tooth when I was holding her and laughing at something someone had said....took me quite by surprise!!!!!!

Yeah... watch your eyeballs. They seem to attract beaks!

Ouch! Poor thing! The same thing happened to my daughter. But she wasn't hurt, just scared her.
Hope you are okay, that's really scary. :aww

Thanks. Vision is blurry. I'm sure it's a scratch type-thing. I'm going to use antibiotic drops to prevent infection. It's just so frustrating to have a blurry eye when you're used to 20/20! She got me right in the iris. I think she was aiming for the pretty black pupil! Why'd ya do it, Betsy, why???

Ooooh! Naughty girl! I've had them go for my sunglasses before, but never my eye...I hope you recover quickly.
No treats for that naughty hen for a week or more, I'd say!
