My young Rhode Island Red was introduced to our flock of bantams 2 days ago. He's been in a mini coop inside the big coop for weeks while growing up so he wouldn't be totally unfamiliar with the hens until he was big enough. All was well then I went out to feed this morning and the poor guy was bloody at the base of his tail and I think I even see a bit of bone back there. He seems ok, he's eating and drinking and is safely back in his mini coop. Is there anything I should be doing to make sure infection doesn't set in on him? I'm new to chickens and everything has been great up until now. Thanks for any advice!
