I know this is an old post, however I was intrigued by the description of your hen's hard mass because you described exactly what I'm seeing on my hen, right down to the eschar just below the vent at the top of the mass. I know that hen is likely gone by now but did her mass ever get smaller? Or did it eventually lead to her demise?
