I'll have to get pics but one of our hens has a problem with her neck. It looks like she keeps staring up into the sky. I've never seen this before and she just started this I think a couple days ago. Every once in a while she'll kind of straighten out but not all the way and not for long. Any ideas as to what could have happened to her or could it be some kind of disease?

Maybe you should check her throat for something stuck, or gape worm . Try to figure out what she does before this; like eat, or drink, etc.

Could be a neurological problem, but I don't know why.

I'm not familiar with gapeworm but after Googling it I don't think that's it.

She is an odd chicken. Very very laid back most of the time. I believe she's a Leghorn, if that helps.

I wasn't able to get a pic today, I'll have to get one tomorrow.

I'm thinking it's a neural problem, vitamins may help, even vit E. There are many others on BYC who are knowedgeable about this. I'm not real familiar with "star gazing". For now, I would go with the vitamins-I heard that from someone who has a chicken with wry neck.

Ok, I'll try the vitamins. I keep some on hand just for our chickens. It's come in handy, lol.

....Still need to get pics. Been so busy and forgetful, lol.
