Hen with solid black comb?

A friend had asked me if that is normal. I havent seen the chicken but she said it has a solid black comb and the chicken is 4 months old. WIll she lay eggs?

Some breeds DO have solid black combs; my Longcrowers' combs are solid black. Find out what breed she is - that will help us to help her!

The color of the comb shouldn't affect egg production, I wouldn't think.....Some chickens do have black skin, like a Silkie.....Is the comb healthy looking?

My GL Wyandotte has a solid black comb. There is no sign of it ever changing.
