So I have 6 week old Wyandottes that are separated but in the same coop as my 3 year old mixed flock. My Shelley bird, an Americuana, apparently wants to be their mom, as she has been obsessed with getting into the enclosure since we moved the babies in this weekend. I think she tried to fly over the chicken wire/wood wall overnight and has injured her leg. She refuses to put weight on it and is complaining to me when I was inspecting the leg. I see no visible injuries on leg or foot, it is hot compared to the other leg. (I haven't really inspected her hip area yet - I only had about 10 minutes to assess the situation this morning before I had to leave for work) I have her in a small cage with food and water. She is eating and resting now. Any suggestions as to what I can do to help her? I was considering trying 1/2 baby aspirin and her favorite treat of yogurt and oatmeal to help her feel better.

It does look like it's hip related. She is doing better today but it does still seem to be sore. Keeping her in the tiny cage another day to see how she does. Poor girl!
