Henleys Say No to Snow!!

Not fans of the snowy weather. Like the obedient hen servant I am, I delivered treats to the run today, instead of their normal snack area. On the plus side, the accumulation of snow on the hardware cloth turned the run into a cozy igloo!

That's the difficult part for all of us to believe - we are in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Deep South - perhaps someone upstairs is not clear on the concept that we are not really supposed to get snow. Because me and the hens - we understand that part completely!!!

We had 14 degree weather last year and it never rose above the teens for two days. We had to run the water on our citrus, and this year we can't afford it, so...I hope our trees just toughen up because we are getting ice falling from the sky here now.
I told my husband that we need to go ahead and plant apple trees. They should get enough chill time.
