Okay I have 15 hens living with one female duck. The duck was hatched by one of the hens. Everyone has got along well and the duck is laying an egg a day along with the chickens. She lives in the same coop and free ranges with the chickens because we have a pond for her. BUT, just in the last few days, about 5 of the hens have started flogging and pecking the ducks head. The poor duck minds her buisness and the hens just run up and start attacking her. I am afraid that if I am not around they will kill her. Does anyone know why all of the sudden with nothing changing, the hens would start attacking my duck? I don't want to get rid of her! I love her eggs for baking and she is fun! Any advice?
