I have 2 hens that are about 2 years old. I got 3 gold sex links about a year ago as chicks. I got 3 more chicks this February. I finally got the newest ones in with the hens but had to throw them in the coop every night with the older hens because they wouldn't go in on their own. They like sleeping on the roof of the coop so I started letting them do that every night. They are in a covered enclosure that is rat proof so I haven't worried about them being outside all night. Since I have let them sleep outside the gold sex links that I got as chicks last year have been chasing them off the nest every time they want to lay an egg. They are acting like it's their territory since the younger ones aren't sleeping in the coop any more. I was wondering what I should do. I'm am contemplating getting a dog house for the 3 younger ones to have shelter and to be able to lay their eggs in peace! Any suggestions would be great!
