Hens plucking feathers off of rooster

    seven girls and all of a sudden they started pulling out his tail feathers and then today I saw they have
    been pulling feathers off behind his neck...looks awful..down to the meat...poor fellow.
    Why are they doing this? they free foam have a very peaceful life..seems really strange.

    he jumps the girls from behind a lot, they seem to not like it..but, I thought that is normal behavior?

    Is the rooster you are talking about younger than the hens?

    My hens did the same thing to my rooster and yeah he's younger does that matter? Do you have any advice
