Hi ya'll,

I wrote a bit back about two 14 mos. old Red Stars we got that laid the first day we had them and have not laid since. It's been over 4 weeks. Does it take them this long to adjust to a new environment? Will they ever lay again? They got a cozy coop with all the necessities and a great area to free range during the day. They're eating their laying mash and water, and look healthy, fat and happy.

Thoughts...

that was my thought also, perhaps they have a secret stash of eggs somewhere in the yard!

I have heard about hens doing this, it's called "egg binding", you are better off to google it to find the remedy. Hope this helps in some way.

I'd guess they are laying them somewhere in the yard or where they roam. It seems unlikely that all of them would get bound. I would not be surprised if snakes or some other creature was feeding on them. Have you tried locking them up for a few days to see if any produce an egg?
