I have two olive eggers that were hatched January 20th (26 weeks old if my math is right). I've had suspicions for awhile. Behaviors after pics.
Suspect roo is on the left. Hen on the right.
Better shot of tails. Suspect roo on left, hen on right:
Another side shot. Roo left, hen right, special guest RIR in background:
Solo suspect tail shot:
Another tail angle:
Suspicious Behaviors:
I've noticed this bird is a lot meatier than the other OE for awhile.
It is usually the one to jump up on the roost and announce to the others that I'm heading to the run.
I have only seen one olive egg, and that was a few weeks ago.
Today it attempted a crow.
Hen Behaviors:
It is still submissively crouches when I enter the run.
I have not seen it mount the other hens.
It is not the top bird in the flock.
Is my suspect a rooster? Tell it to me straight, doc!
