Yes, they do that, those cockerels. But it's one of those "firsts" that we get all excited about. The neighbors, not so much, but nobody lives right near us just yet, so...

It's so cute! Not bad for a beginner.

Our Delware Drumstick is growing up. He's three months old, and looks magnificent. He has a lieutenant cockerel whom I expect we won't hear. They're both greedy pigs at the moment, no gentlemanly tidbitting or dancing, but they're young yet.

I was working in the garden recently, when I heard a strange noise from the chicken run - like a cat being strangled. I dropped my tools and ran to their run in alarm - and there he was, cute little thing, trying his best to crow. I about fell over laughing. :lau

Mine is still tentative about it, and only does it just as the sun's coming up and the wild birds are really tuning up their morning chorus. He doesn't do it once they're out in the run. I can't wait til he does, though--I want to see him! He's afraid of me because he pecked me really hard on the back once and I took a swing at him. I don't know how he'll do once he starts getting seriously hormonal, but for now, he stays out of my way.

Mines only crowing in the morning as well. Which I like but also can’t wait for the day crows too. Im sure a lot of ppl don’t like it but I'm gonna love it!
