I checked on my goose nest today and saw a big hole in one of the eggs. it was VERY obvious that momma had stepped on and cracked the egg, theres "spider" cracks all around the big hole.

i peeled back the loose flap and the baby is still alive & breathing!!!

what do i do?? can i save it?? i brought it in and covered it with a damp cloth and put it in the incubator. This is all i could think of to keep it from drying out, it's moving around quite a bit and seems okay, no bleeding or anything. it looks to be almost "hatching size" but i cant tell if theres a lot of yolk left or not.

should i leave it in the bator or try to open it up? im worried i will cause bleeding if i open it up. [IMG]

    what do i do??

He just stopped breathing a minute ago, I think it might have been a "stolen" duck egg, he was solid light silver blue...stupid goose. hit

I had this happen to me and I applied candle wax, but if you've got a big hole, that won't work. You need to keep it moist and away from germs and WARM. My baby didn't make it, the egg caved in. All you can do is try. GOOD LUCK! [IMG]

The hole is like...silver dollar sized. i can see its little beak moving, and it breathing & wiggling. I have it under a damp cloth and in the bator, checking on it very often too.
