    i think my silkie mumble laid an egg today not sure. she is with a duck could it possibly be a duck egg?? im not sure lol. the pic is possible silkie egg to the left and to the right is a japanese bantam egg all suggestions are welcome :)

    Looks to small to be a duck egg. Thou I am no pro on silkies.

    Mumbles laid an egg! That is not a duck egg. And I have had silkies and ducks. The duck egg has a different look to it. It is hard to explain. But, congrats...Mumble is laying! [​IMG]

    thanks!! i was so happy when i saw it. and i guess you could call her a early bloomer cause shes not even 24 weeks yet :) arent i lucky. ;-)

    I'm not sure if it's the same with all duck eggs but the eggs we had have a different texture to the shell. Kinda reminds me of ivory...not like a chicken egg shell

    Definitely not a duck egg! I don't know of any duck that lays a tan colored egg. And lucky you!! Ours are just finally starting to lay, and they are 7-8 months old!
