hey guys. this is my first post and so background on me is:
i work at a zoo which I'm very lucky to work there.
i love my 4 chickens and duck very much and wouldn't do anything to hurt them. so on that note. i hatched 4 chickens and a duck. i live in ny so its starting to get very cold here so they are all inside. I hatched a peking duck and 2 silkies as i know but the others are a mystery. i know there only pics but if anyone has ideas on what they are and the sex of any of them id greatly appreciated it! thanks!!

this is Cream. i have no idea what kind of chicken it is. anyone have any clue?

this is Shadow. i have no idea what it is either? any suggestions!! ??!

i rescued cream and shadow from a farm where they were killing the babies and they were females. they just didn't want them they said. they are super happy but i could only get 2 from them. im happy i got to save them but sad i couldn't save more. so any suggestions would help and below is a picture of the pens their in. The babies are in a separate pen because for some reason the duck shows a lot of aggression towards them and im scared it will hurt them. any ideas on that either?! lol. well thanks for any help!! sincerely brandon.

As your little ones get bigger=I suggest a big plastic storage container ..thats what i used as a brooder--it works great for inside purposes!
I am not good at gender identification--(sorry!)--but they look great!
    Congrats!

Does your duck QUACK loud? Or does it make a soft raspy quack? Hens quack very loud! And drakes quack very soft.....more like a whisper, and they also get a curled feather on their tale. [IMG] I hope that helps.

And how coll you work at a zoo! That is awesome!!! Welcome to the BYC!

The duck looks life a female.
The white Silkie is a female
It is too early to tell on the runt Silkie
The other two are sex-link pullets (one red, one black)
