Hello, I'm Jessie and new to raising chickens I got my first three back in July (barred rock,RIR, & a Easter egger) and then two more in august. (Lavender&buff orpingtons) Unfortunately I lost one to what I'm pretty sure was a hawk . Then I purchased a gorgeous golden laced Wyandotte. I added on to the run last weekend and I plan on adding more nest boxes next weekend I'm totally addicted now. If only my girls would start laying :( I think there going to make me wait until spring. This is going to be the longest winter ever!

Sounds like a good bunch ya got there.I myself raise Buff Orpingtons for meat and eggs, and have a few straggler breeds at the moment.

As far as them not laying; make sure they're fed enough (or a tiny bit to much), have enough light during the short days, have plenty of water, and give them alot of space. (I know about that last one cuz right now I'm not gettin as many eggs as I could because my coop is too small.)

Hope this helps. Good Luck and Always enjoy,

    Seth
