Hi, I'm Steph!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am a new chicken owner. My friend raised 4 hens from chicks (born ~April 2020) and gave them to me a August 2021.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4 hens; Blitz, Blackout, Dolly, and Specs.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Not entirely sure, but I think 2 black Australorps, and not sure what the other 2 are.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching the strange behaviors of the birds and how they run to me at feeding time.. oh and of course the fresh eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening and cooking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
The hens are watched and protected by my cat, Pumpers.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
