G'day everyone,I'm new to this site and new to having chooks,i spent the last week building my chookpen and i bought three chooks yesterday and i've got two eggs already. The only problem i have is their laying the eggs on the floor and not in the box's.I have a nesting box for each chook up off the ground on a shelf with a ramp so they can get to them can anyone tell me how to get them to use the box's?
any help will be much appreciated.Jim

I just used a golfball in each box and showed the girls, they haven't laid on the floor since. That was my experience but there may be others with more helpful advice!

I'm not sure about chooks but I've heard a golf ball or artifical egg helps with chickens. I'm sure someone here can help you though, they are alot of experinced members here that are very helpful:thumbsup good luck!
