Hi all! We finally took the plunge.

It is official, after a year of reading BYC, and raising our Welsh Harlequins, we have finally started our chicken flock. We are starting small, just four as of today, but are already looking for more.
So our family is now my husband and myself, four kids, four cats, two Welsh Harlequins, two Ameraucana chicks, and two Black Australorps chicks.

Woo hoo, the journey is just beginning! Our plan is to homestead as sustainably as possible on our one acre. I'm so happy that there is a community here that I can learn from!

Thank you all, and Pyxis I wish we lived closer! I'm having a heck of a time locating more Welsh Harlequins in my area. We are on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland

. We absolutely love our girls, and don't want to mix any other type of ducks into our flock, but we can't find any more locally. Ah well... The new peeps will keep me entertained hopefully until I can get my hands on more Harlequins
