Hi, I'm Sheri, and I've been lurking here for a few years, but have finally decided to join in the fun! I'm on my 3rd batch of chickens, dogs got my first batch, then last month a fox got the next batch. So now I have a half dozen Americaunas, 'cause the chicks looked by baby chipmunks and I couldn't resist, and looking the the threads here, I see I'm gonna need help sexing them!
Love this site, so glad I got off my bum and joined!

Hi :welcome Sheri

Glad you could join the flock! I'm sorry to hear about your losses in the past, attacks sure can be devastating and I've suffered my self too. I'm sure you would enjoy checking out the Ameraucana breed focus ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/975512/chicken-breed-focus-ameraucana

The what breed gender section is also great for getting lots of help on sexing ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

Wishing you the very best of luck for the future and enjoy BYC :frow

Hi, and :welcome

So sorry to hear about the sad fate of your last flock! Foxes are bad news always. :/

Definitely check out the links that @Yorkshire Coop has provided on sexing! :D

Please check out the predator threads for ideas on safeguarding your flock, so you won't need to replace a third time. Predators will be back once they get an easy meal, and sometimes bring their inlaws with them.
