    Hi everyone,

    New to the group. I'm a proud owner of 20 chickens. I have 16 hens and 4 roosters.

    5 Americanas Hens
    3 Buff Orpington Hens
    2 Buff Orpington Roosters
    4 Bantam Hens
    2 Bantam Roosters
    2 Wynn Dot Hens
    1 Leghorn Hen
    1 Bantam/Americana Mix Hen

    Holy Moly that is a lot of chickens - Welcome!!!!...... and have you heard the term chicken math yet? You will! Chickens are like potato chips you can just have 20......

    [​IMG] unless you intend to separate the breeds to have pure bred stock to offer, you don't need that many roosters. One rooster can handle 10 hens. So 1 and 1/2 rooster would be plenty.[​IMG] too many roosters and they can overbreed your hens to the point of damage or death. You do not need any roosters if you just want to have eggs .

    Well I didn't even get to the point of where all my chickens are, the ages, what chickens are with each other, ages, am I selling a rooster or two. Got it covered. Thanks though.
