I am new to chickens on my own. We always had some when I was growing up, and I missed it. I bought a new coop and 8 chicks later I am a new chicken mom : ) Any advice would be appreciated.

That's what brought me back to chickens: I missed them after growing up on a farm with them! They are a wonderful part of life. Welcome to this supportive and encouraging community. You'll find lots of practical advice to help you on your journey and lots of good friends to share it with!

G’Day from down under Kate [IMG] Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out [IMG]
