Hi Everyone! I am a newbie here, and a newbie to have chicks as well! I am a Probation Officer full time, but am also a 4-H leader, a barn manager, and a riding instructor part time. I manage a horse farm (36 horses, some boarded and some for therapeutic programs) and we have about 20 hens and 3 roosters as well as some guinea hens and 1 lonely muscovy duck. Over the last few years I've really enjoying caring for those hens and my personal barn has a great coop already built in! Soooo I decided this past weekend to take the plunge and get 15 little chicks of my own! I now have 5 Buff orpington, 5 golden laced wyandottes, and 5 Black Australorp Chicks that are now going on 3 weeks old! They all appear healthy, happy and are growing quickly!! I look forward to learning as we go and watching my flock grow!!
