    Hello everyone,

I have been reading here for the last couple of weeks looking for information after my wife said she wanted a few chickens. We are waiting for our shipment of chicks this week while I build their coop. Thanks for the great website and glad to meet y'all.

Hi and welcome to BYC - exciting times ahead for you (well, maybe more your wife than yourself [IMG]). The Coops section and the "Coops and Runs" forum should give you lots of ideas for your coop build.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

This link may help you for the moment.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread

    All the best
