Hi there
My name is Stephanie and we are about to get our first chickens! Yay! I have been "working" the husband for more than a year and we are finally in the process of converting a stall and a storage room in our barn to a coop. Our plan is for Plymouth Rocks and we're pretty excited.
When we're not getting ready for chickens, I am an artist and my husband is a teacher. We raise, show, and generally have our lives dictated by dogs. Our main breeds are Italian Greyhounds and Ibizan Hounds, but we have a token Collie.
We're in Washington and hope to find a local person from whom to get chickens.
Anyway, great to be here.

the collie pup is a beauty, I used to Breed and show cockers many years ago - lots of former and present dog show people on here.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

One word of warning, chickens are very dusty and you may find that a problem in your barn if they are not walled off
Good to know. The stall has 8' (or maybe taller) walls on 3 1/2 sides, so it should be okay. The other 1/2 side goes to the grass paddock where the chickens can forage.

Thanks all for the welcome!
