Hello! I finally have chickens I had to move 2 states to get to a place where they were allowed yahoo! I have 16 chickens and I have been getting at least 8 eggs a day but usually it's 11. Think I am doing something right. 2 heat lamps lots of food that's my trick! They are also free range 24/7. Snow doesn't seem to bother them.

I have a couple blue laced red Wyandottes, barred rocks, red stars, 1 Rhode Island Red, black stars, Buff Orpingtons and Auracna or Americana I don't know hot to spell it sorry. OH I just acquired 2 Sussex hens. I can't tell the eggs apart but I have tried to determine who's is who's. I can tell the stars eggs that's it. I had a hen lay on 4 eggs and all 4 hatched. They are cutie tootie chicks. This is my Blue laced red Rooster I think he's not so great. Opinions? Deciding if I should buy from the same person or buy from McMurtry's McMurry's? He's about a year now.

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. Great selections. You are very lucky to have chickens that don't mind the snow. Mine won't step foot outside if there is snow on the ground. They will just stand in the doorway. :barnie

Greetings from Kansas and [IMG]! Great to have you here! Roosters are usually easy to find - or at least easier than hens. You might check around locally and see if someone has too many roos. I have used Murray McMurray in the past with great success - love all the varieties. Good luck to you!
