We are brand new to raising chickens and just received our 15 baby chicks about 4 days ago! So excited! Have watched numerous youtube videos, but have lots of questions with the various advice I am seeing. Hope to find some great tips and answers on this forum. Thanks.

    Hi,
We have Light Brahma, Red Cross, Ameraucana, Amberlink, Barred Rock and Isa Browns. They are all so cute and fun to watch. Boy do they grow fast.
I noticed a couple of the chicks having pasty butt which I learned about on some youtube videos. One person suggested to offer finely ground organic cornmeal, a scrambled egg mashed well, probiotics in their water and some other remedies. I have started doing this, but I am not sure how often to offer the scrambled egg and how much cornmeal to give daily? I also read about adding organic apple cider vinegar in the water, but I am also using the chick electrolyte along with the probiotic to their water, so do I use the vinegar as well? Do you have any advice on this? I am not giving them grit just yet. So far so good, but I am not sure about the amount of cornmeal and scrambled egg for the 15 chicks, thanks! My husband say's I'm like their mother hen and would sleep with them if I could, LOL.
