Hello!

I've spent the last two weeks building my coop, and just picked up 8 chicks today!

Is this a photo of your brooder or the coop?
If coop it looks quite small for 8 birds.

Welcome to byc and enjoy that flock! Cool to see that you had the coop before you bought the birds. A lot of us...um...didn't. I got mine built by week 6 and I was ready for them to go outside! You better bet my next coop was built before I even thought about adding more chicks!

I suppose I should call it my brooder for now. I am only keeping 4 of these once they grow out. They were straight run, so I am going to have to give away or sell any roosters. My ordinances only allow hens here. I figured 8 was a good beginning number to chance the roos! If I end up with more than 4 hens I'll be able to sell them or give them to someone I know with chickens.

Well I DO still have the attach the roof and build the run, so I wasn't totally prepared! :)
