Hi everyone - I am in my first winter of backyard chickens and have been reading your posts since last April when I hatched my first guineas. Now - 39 birds later - I decided I should join in. I think all chicken breeds are interesting and goofy and fun to watch - I currently am working mostly with Ture Ameraucanas and Black Copper Marans and various Bantys. Have run into a bit of beginners bad luck (first chickens came from a farm with an ILT outbreak) - so I know some things I'd rather not and am still learning lots more. I have two girls who are turning three soon and I am not sure they are quite as thrilled with chickens as mommy is - I think it is too much competition.

Glad to be here...now I will go find the right place to post my latest chicken mystery!
