Hi there! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I guess I'll use the suggested template and tell you a little bit about myself:

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
    - My husband got chickens a few years ago he didn't know much about them. We then raised a chick from an egg and he joined the flock. Unfortunately a fox got into the coop one night and they were eaten, this was before we were living together and he lived with his family. We recently decided to give it another go and got some day old chicks in the spring.

    (2) How many chickens do you have right now?
    - We have three Silverlaced girls, two RIR girls and one RIR rooster.

    (3) What breeds do you have?
    - Silverlaced Wyandottes and Rhode Island Reds. I originally wanted Austrolorps with the SLW however.

    (4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
    Google!

    (5) What are some of your other hobbies?
    - I enjoy history, motorcycling (I ride a 1978 Suzuki GS400), reading and knitting.

    (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
    - I lived in a fishing village outside of a town here in NS. I own a 11 month old Golden Retriever named Belle, a four year old tuxedo cat named Fawkes, and a 9 month old kitten named Giacomo. I live with my husband in a 140 year old gothic revival house that needs a LOT of work. We are slowly working on it bit by bit. We're newly weds, we married a year and a half ago. I'm 23 and he's 25. My husband is currently going back to university and I am a professional photographer.

Our chickens are named: Go-Go, Zoe, Arlene, BeBe, Alabama and Bill (our rooster). They are all named after Quentin Tarantino movie characters. Four out of my five girls are laying eggs now [IMG] I'm excited to get tips and meet other chicken owners!
