Very new to chickens and very nervous. I met a silkie this past summer and now have her at home with me, and then purchased eggs online and on day 19! All thanks to BYC! I am a horse person adding chickens to her passions.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I love both chickens and horses (although it's been several decades since I had a horse). I used to raise Black Silkies, and they were delightful little birds; sweet, adorable, gentle, friendly, and funny. They were also wonderful brooders and mothers and raised several broods for us. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your hatch.
