My Hubby and I are new to the world of chickens. We've got six Buff Orps chicks that are three weeks and and who are anxiously awaiting the finishing of their brand new coop (hopefully this weekend as they are growing much FASTER than anticipated). I've really enjoyed reading all the posts and wonderful suggestions on this site [IMG]

Hi there! I'm also in Sac. I've got one lonely silkie now that my roosters had to be re-homed. She's getting a frizzle friend tomorrow, though. [IMG]

Quote:Did you find the frizzle locally? I've not seen any frizzle chicks at the local feed stored I've visited. I'm waiting anxiously to see if all our chicks turn out to be pullets. If not, we'll be doing some re-homing ourselves.

Quote:We live in Sac County, on property still zoned "rural" but close to the actual City. Because of the rural designation, chickens are okay!
