Hi everyone

We've been chicken people for a couple of months now. We have a white sussex and two maran noir cuivrés, bought at around 16 weeks old. The Sussex is called Carmen, the two marans are Tosca and Mimi ... well I am a musician..

We get three eggs most days and Tosca laid an absolute whopper a few days ago - 96 grammes. That must have hurt

Aside from the chickens we have a retired racing greyhound. She had to be muzzled round the hens to start with, but they've been sharing soaked stale baguette together and now they are great friends.

We're right on the edge of a village, with europe's largest pine forest on our doorstep. We've lived here for nearly 3 years since leaving UK. Lots of people have chickens round here, perhaps that's why they all seem able to cook the most amazing pastries. I'm a beginner in that department, but the free range eggs are an encouragement.
