hello there! I'm planning on getting my chickens soon and I'm so happy to have found your forum. I was showing my Mother what a mature English Lavender plant looked like... And to my surprise, up popped a picture of a gorgeous chicken. I had to look of course and it brought me here. I had not decided what breed or breeds of chickens to buy, but I know I will be wanting to get some of those! I am currently looking at different DIY coops here and there. I was supposed to get my chickens last October but a family illness put that off a little. Here I am now, anxious to learn before I buy. All advise is welcome (and needed) thanks!

Greetings from Budapest. I started to keep araucanas and mixed breed farm chickens 6 month ago. I joined BYC to explore the wider World of breeders and poultry keepers. Take a look at my birds :)

Look at EE layers and Araucanas! They lay beautiful blue-green eggs!

    Hi and :welcome

Good luck with getting chickens, and building a coop, if you're going to go for that. I've seen some great ones around that people have done up themselves on here.
We've had sex link chickens for years now, they are very reliable and friendly, but you go for whatever you want to get.
    Enjoy the site! :D

Greetings from Kansas, justdeb, and [IMG]! Great to have you with us! It's always interesting to hear how people discover BYC! Sounds like Sumi gave you some homework (listen to Sumi - she knows her stuff) so you should be set. Best of luck with your chickens! [IMG]
