At the moment I have thirteen 9-10 week old chicks, but I have too many that I think are cockerels, so that number will probably be changing soon! I am not too disappointed with all the cockerels though as I got straight run chicks from a nearby farm and picked them out myself, lol. We have a variety of different types and if I can find new homes for some of my unwanted cockerels, I have a few more I would like to add to the flock eventually. My husband and I have been so surprised with how much we have loved having chicks, I can't wait for them to grow up and start laying eggs

Lol, thanks! I think I have figured out what most of the chicks' genders are, but one of my favorites I still have absolutely no idea on. So maybe I will ask there and see if anyone has any ideas!

Lol, Thank you very much for the warm welcome! I have been enjoying watching the cockerels grow up, I love the iridescent quality of some of their feathers. However, soon most of the cockerels will have to go, I don't want them all fighting and unhappy.

Yeah, we got lucky with one absolutely wonderful Australorp cockerel who takes great care of his ladies, lol.
