Hi welcome to Backyard Chickens. Your silkie looks great!
Gary from Idyllwild Ca here
Glad you joined us!
Thanks! I have a few silkie roosters and I'm not sure which is best.this one has red in his comb so I better not breed from him, my other favourite with magnificent fluff on the head has greenish feet my one with no red in comb and proper colour feet doesn't have so much head fluff so its a bit of a conundrum which one to use. I'd better ask the people on the silkie thread. Happy festive season to all!
Are your silkies from a hatchery or ?? Green legs sounds like it's a silkie mix
Greetings from Kansas and ! Great to have you in our community! Best of luck to you and your silkies!
G’Day neighbour Welcome!
Your Silkie is a little cutie! I agree that the Silkie thread is probably the best starting point to ask questions.
I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
Good luck with your Silkie breeding plans. Thanks for joining us!
Hi, I ended up selling the one with green legs and the one with red in the comb, I brought them about 4 months old from two different sources. Still waiting on my silkie hens to lay now
