    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, we just got 4 Barred Plymouth Rocks, hopefully pullets from TSC, though I have my doubts that they are ALL girls!!
    (2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Just 4 babies, but I'd like more already ;)
    (3) What breeds do you have?
Barred Rocks, but I'd love some bantams!
    (4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
    Internet searches for coops
    (5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am an artist, I live in the Smoky Mountains and enjoy all things outdoors. We just bought a house on a mountain, and are in the very early stages of becoming more self-sufficient.
    (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have a husband, also an artist/teacher, and two little girls ages 8 and 4. We have 2 geriatric cats and a mountain mutt dog who likes to mother the baby chicks--he always herds the kids in the yard and is very protective of us ever since we rescued him from a dumpster as a puppy, he looks like an Irish Wolf Hound shrunk down to 1/3 the size lol, and I'm hoping his herding and protection tendencies will work well for chickens.

Would love to see a photo of your dog. I can't imagine a Wolfhound like dog reduced to 1/3 it's size. Sounds like a perfect fit for a house dog.

This is Finnegan, the "teacup wolfhound," as my husband like to call him! He likes the chickies so far, and lays by their box at night until they go to sleep. DSC_0023.JPG DSC_0008.JPG
